Developed by Biofeedback Therapist Jennifer Stephens, M.A.

"Jennifer Stephens first approached me about her interest in the treatment of urinary incontinence in 1992...When Jennifer described newer bladder control exercises which seemingly offered a “risk-free” alternative to surgery, I was very interested if slightly skeptical. At that time, there were only a few studies which discussed “pelvic floor rehabilitation” via biofeedback techniques. Jennifer’s experience with biofeedback and her excitement over its use to improve pelvic floor strength and decrease incontinence convinced me to look further.

I decided to take a chance on this new approach to incontinence and was not disappointed by what I observed over the years to come. My patients were clearly getting better after seeing Jennifer...."

Does drinking a lot of caffeine cause urinary problems like overactive bladder?
seems when I drink coffee or soda I tend to go more often than other beverages and it's rather sudden sometimes

What kind of doctor do I see for an overactive bladder?
I'm under 30 years old so I doubt it's a prostate issue.

How do I know if I have overactive bladder syndrome?
Today I've been peeing A LOT like 5 times since 11am and each time it wasn't just a little, it was kind of a lot, and I'm really confused because I haven't really been drinking that much. I even thought I was dehydrated yesterday. What is this???

Anyone ever had an overactive bladder as a result of pregnancy that lasted after giving birth?
Did it ever get back to normal? If so, how long afterwards?

Could I have an overactive bladder (OAB)?
I'm afraid I might have something wrong with my bladder. I'm an 18 year old female, and since I can remember I've had frequent urination and for the past few years it's gotten to the point that I don't want to go out with friends or risk going somewhere where there might not be a bathroom. I pretty much have to go every hour and a half or so, and I can hold it for a long time, but really only if I'm near a bathroom relaxed at home. Some days, I have to go constantly and it's really uncomfortable some days are just normal. I want to get on some kind of medication, but I wonder if I'd qualify. What should I do? What kind of doctor should I see?

How to treat an overactive bladder? Please help!?
Since before last Christmas, I continuesly feel like I need to go to the toilet. I don't actually need to go and the amount I do go is quite normal, but every minute of everyday I have the sensation of needing to go which is incredibly uncomfortable most the time if i'm not occupied, e.g. at night it's extremely upsetting me at the moment.I've been to the doctors, tried pills, had a scan, urine sample, seen a urologist etc. The pills didn't help me, nothing showed up in the scan or in the urine sample so the urologist has really suggested that he thinks my bladder is just 'Sensitive'. At this point when asking him about my possible options from here, he didn't have much to say, and I could only burst into tears at the thought that I have to have this uncomfortable feeling forever? Now sleeping at night is even worse because i'm even more upset about the fact that this uncomfortable feeling will never potentially go.He told me to not be completely negative as there is still the possability they may find something when they look into my bladder more properly I don't know the appropriate word for the proccess, but they will put me to sleep while they look into my actual bladder to make sure there is nothing else going on . The urologist said he doesn't personally think anything will be found because it is just a case of an overactive bladder but I am praying that they will.Asuming they don't find anything and that is really is just a case of an overactive bladder, what do i do now? Even though the urologist said nothing at the time, I've read other treatments such as surgery. My symptoms seem so much different to what I read about OAB. For example, it just sounds like people with OAB need to urinate more times a day than the average person, or have leakage accidents. I have the sensation of needing to go every minute of everyday, even if I've literally just got off the toilet. I cut out caffine from my diet for weeks and it made no difference. I can't live with that feeling for the rest of my life ' Please help, what options do I have?

My husband seems to have a overactive bladder advice needed?
My husband needs to wee alot. t is starting to make life difficult when we go out we have to continuelly stop for him to wee. When we get to the shops or where ever we are going the first thing we have to do is find a toilet. Normally when we go to do the food shopping he has to go and wee 2 3Times. He can't hold it long when he needs to wee as its painfully. He has had so many near accidents. Where he has nearly not made it or made it but wee a bit in his pants and trowsers. t is starting to effect him at work. He works as a chef and duing service when it is really busy you can't just leave kitchen and keep customers waiting for food he has several times nearly wet him self. At night he gets up at least 2 3 times too wee. Waking me up each time. have spoken to my husband time and time again and have asked him to go and see the doctor. But he refuses and doesnt think he has a problem. He thinks every one wees this much. What can do to help him. How can get him to accept he has a problem. And get him to go to the doctors. Does any one else have this problem with weeing so much. thought about trying to pursuade him to wear nappies or some kind of pullups. So that if he doesnt quite make it and wees abit his toussers won't get wet as know when this happens he gets very imbarresed. But know he would not like this idea. My husband is so stubon. Any advice or sugestion on how can help him would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.Sorry should have said my husband is 40years old if this helps

Does overactive bladder affect home preg test?
My period is due around the 3rd 4th 5th. I have had very sore breasts for about 3 weeks. A couple of weeks ago I took a home preg test negative. The last 3 days I feel nausea and so tired I can't function. I almost constantly feel sick but never enough to throw up but I'm not a person who throws up easily. So I took another test today but negative again. Just wondering, I've had a bladder problem for years, I'm 20 & never had children but I have overactive bladder & am on the waiting list for an operation could this affect the level on preg hormone & made the test neg? I'd already gone pee about 40 minutes before I took the test with new pee. Either that or I'm just not preg but I'm sick & tired of having to wait for menses, can't cope with any more days of wondering.any help is sooo much appreciated.

Medicine for overactive bladder?
I'm 20 and I have to urinate all of the time. I went to the doctor and he started me on some medicine... detripan i believe. Well the medicine gave me really dry mouth, it was unbearable, within 30 minutes of not having a drink I could barely talk my mouth was so dry. So my doctor switched me to a different medicine, 2 pills a day. I still get really dry mouth. So I stopped taking it. I'm wondering what you think is best for me to do. Should I 1. Take the medicine religiously and deal with the side effects carry water wherever I go 2. Go off the medicine because my urinary troubles are bad, but not as bad as my mouth getsor3. Go to a urologist and see what they think is wrong with me?Thanks for your advice

It was just minor accidents every other day or so, but now it is worse and more frequent. I am too young for this
